going gingHAM

43558d2e95c8d436b01af1bd338944d5.jpgI hate to use the phrase, ‘unless you’ve been living under a rock,’ but seriously guys, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you must be aware of the sudden upsurge in gingham products. Much to my delight, gingham is this summer’s big print. Harkening back to picnic tables, Dorothy Gale and Brigitte Bardot’s landmark pink, gingham wedding dress, I think we should all hop on the gingham-train for this year’s July 4th celebrations. So why gingham?the-wizard-of-oz-judy-garland.jpg

I’ll tell you why, sisters. It’s festive, it has a fun retro-vibe to it and it’s definitely an evergreen style. Meaning, you can pull it out of your closet Unknown.jpegyear after year. No matter how cutesy you may think gingham is, celebrity street styling has proven otherwise—there are totally ways to edge up the print, while still maintaining its essential prettiness. If Amal Clooney can rock a gingham, knee length vest, you can wear gingham this July 4th.

So, where to purchase your gingham? You’ll find a bunch of red, white and blue options online and in stores. My favorite places showcasing full-on gingham collections are: J. Crew and Draper James. I’d also be sure to check out Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Lisa Marie Fernandez Kate Spade New York, Sea, Solid & Striped and Carolina Constas.

Order now, and act fast if you want your purchases to arrive before this weekend’s celebrations!
