Here’s the deal: less than 100 years ago, women did not have the right to vote. It’s 2016, and if you’re an American woman of voting age, and you’re NOT voting, I’m disappointed. And guess what? For all of you ‘undecideds’, you know that you can literally write in your mother’s name. Right? Exercise your right to vote, people! Exercise your right to vote because brave individuals fought for this right for YOU. Exercise your right to vote because brave individuals continue to fight for the right to vote across the globe.
I am privileged in so many ways. I am blessed to have been born into a country where I didn’t have to lift a finger to obtain an equal say in democratic elections. So. Here and now is where you “lift a finger”, literally, and vote. Just do it.
So many people will be affected by the results of this election. Don’t be ‘above it’ because you can’t make time for a process that occurs once every four years. I’m frustrated right now, and I’m scared of the apathy that I’m witnessing.
