Unfortunately, after extensive talks with Tyra, she was unwilling to host my spin off of “America’s Next Top Model”– “The Nordic’s Next Top Tea Towel.” (She said it wasn’t universal enough/didn’t have a mass appeal/blah blah blah. Can’t say I don’t totally get it, but also, can’t say that I totally do. I feel like a lot of people use towels…) Anyway, while discovering beautiful Sweden, I came across a brand of textiles made in Lithuania that I am OBSESSED with.
Almedahls, the brand, pairs updated vintage prints with all sorts of home goods– curtains, tablecloths, placemats, aprons, you name it! I love color, and fun prints, and the bright, vintage influence is such a thing in Sweden. I felt like every store I walked into was my dream kitchen and closet combined. (Or maybe my dream is eating while changing?) Hence, my recently discovered desire to move to Scandinavia. It’s just so me! It actually makes me giddy. My two favorite places to shop are bookstores and places that sell tchotchkes, so this region is perfect for me. Here is a link to the Almedahls website: http://www.almedahls.se/ Shop on!
