In the past, I’ve spent hours on Etsy looking for that perfect vintage dress. I love 60s/70s beachwear, and I’m a huge fan of bright colors, florals and psychedelic patterns– especially for Spring Break! It’s a great way to find (currently) one-of-a-kind looks that harken back to timeless, 50-year-old designs. In fact, at dinner last night, I spoke with my friend’s grandmother for a good thirty minutes on the total ‘blast from the past’ vintage shopping at Cabana Vintage offers.
Cabana Vintage is the brainchild of a lovely New York City-native with a passion for curating the best vintage kaftans, wiggle and maxi dresses. Her aesthetic is right up my Spring Break alley, and I was thrilled to encounter two, large racks of her latest finds. My sister and I both walked away with amazing dresses, after having the best time trying them on. The quality is always impeccable, and the dresses, although decades older than I, look brand new.
The Lyford Cay Island Store is hosting Cabana Vintage’s latest resort wear trunk show this week, but Cabana Vintage can be found all over the United States. After briefly speaking with Alixe Laughlin, the founder, I imagine that she would willingly advise trusted clients when she’s found a dress that particularly suits their look.
For updates on Cabana Vintage, follow Alixe at @cabanavintage on Instagram, and do direct message her for inquiries. I can’t speak highly enough about my new dresses. The fit was unbelievable, and I feel like I’ve found my favorite way to shop vintage. Also, the prices are so reasonable. Compared to the cost of much resort wear, Cabana Vintage is a steal.
