What is it about Victoria Beckham, née Posh Spice, that so conveys an air of unattainability? Is it her endless smirking for the camera? Her marriage to soccer star David Beckham? Her fashion empire? Or her association with Mel B? In my opinion, it may be a combination of all these factors and more. Victoria Beckham is certainly a role model for female entrepreneurs interested in retail, and her latest collection with Target broadens her influence and expands her market. With outfits all under $40, it may even make Victoria Beckham’s style the most attainable of all the Spice Girls for the first time in forever.

Remember this?
Beckham’s collection is colorful and youthful, and nods to British-Invasion, mod-style dresses of the 1960s. Scalloped rompers, jacquard dresses and drop-waist skirts round out a floral-heavy first season for Beckham at Target. While Beckham’s luxury brand sells dresses for thousands of dollars, Victoria Beckham for Target allows budgeting fashionistas and style mavens to shop similarly inspired looks for less.
I’m a big fan of the combinations of bright oranges, pinks and stark blacks and whites. I’ve chosen my six favorite looks, but there are over 100 items—including plus sizes!—to obsess over. I can’t wait for April 9th to roll around, the collaboration’s launch date, to head over to my local Target and try on some new dresses! The best part about mass market collaborations? I not only get to go shopping for clothing, but I also get to pick up my groceries in one foul swoop.
