I have returned from the sunny beaches of Mexico! Both sadly, and also happily. Sad to be back in the cold New England weather– although my Bostonian friends would beg to differ that this is REAL New England weather. But happy to be heading back to school soon!
Unfortunately, on the evening of my birthday, I came down with a wicked case of double pink eye! (Look at that use of ‘wicked.’ Who says CT ain’t New England?) I’m 21 going on 8! All is good now though…got my antibiotics, a nice pot of tea a-boilin anndddd my boyfriend is currently playing with his new toy drone. With my mother.
First of all, this drone was originally for my technologically disinterested younger brother to spy on my neighbors. Just kidding, Roonie. But really, it was for Ry, and he has been struggling to get it together. Garrett took the reigns on this one, and now my mom and he are running around the backyard chasing after it.
It’s quite a sight to behold. On the one hand, you’ve got this giant in a Nordic sweater trying to pull the drone down from the row of hedges it has repeatedly crashed into, and on the other, you’ve got my mom in her Lulu Lemons trying to fly it. It’s one of those things I wanted to document just for the sake of remembering the moment.
You might have to be there, but you also might get it! Important sidebar, for the brief couple of minutes I pulled on some comfy socks for the trek outdoors, the drone managed to fly over my head at a very, very low height. Duck and cover!
IMPORTANT UPDATE: As I’ve been writing this, the drone has crashed into the giant tree in our backyard! Both Garrett and Susan are trying unsuccessfully to throw a ball at it.
UPDATED UPDATE: The ball is now stuck in the tree with the drone. I’m laughing.
