My friend Caroline and I have grown up together. Meaning- we have evolved from Broadway musical loving fangirls/Lizzie McGuire obsessed tweens, to super cool, awesomely hip, true crime podcast mavens. Here’s the deal: We find true crime really interesting. It’s a fascinating genre, and it feels strange to say that. Most people would be like, “Wait, what? Why the heck are you interested in that?” And to be honest, we don’t really have a clear answer for ya…(This is not to say we haven’t discussed the topic in great detail. Maybe it’s an anxiety thing? 😉 )
Still, you must listen to “My Favorite Murder”, Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark’s podcast. Caroline introduced me to the podcast, and for those of you taking long drives this summer, I highly recommend it. It’s weird and funny. I feel like it’s like listening to Caroline and I have a discussion about current events. So maybe if you’re a fellow true crime weirdo, and you and your friend like to discuss murder too, you can relate?
Basically, Kilgariff and Hardstark discuss famous murders for forty-five minute segments. I’ve only listened to the first episode so far, but I’m hooked.
It’s undeniable. True crime is so hot right now, Hansel hot (*my sister is probably rolling her eyes at this*). Remember Steven Avery? My namesake? Just kidding. But also, remember him? People were obsessed with that show! And “The Jinx”? So get on it, people! And listen to these women chat to one another.
Love Alie and Georgia
